FLORIDA LANDLORD TENANT ACT
Have you ever had to deal with the Landlord and Tenant Board (formerly the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal)? The Residential Tenancies Act is a detailed, complicated and highly bureaucratic document. It is not a pleasant experience.
The Florida Landlord Tenant Act is much more lenient than what we experience in Ontario. For instance, you can evict a tenant within 72 hours of the tenant failing to pay rent. Security deposits may be collected. There are no rent controls. You may ask your tenant to leave for any reason with giving them 60 days notice.
